Mohammed Abdullah attracts European interest

Al Ahly's winger Mohammed Abdullah has drawn interest from Europe with two offers on the table as the winter window opens.

The 20-year-old winger has featured for the first team for three seasons.

A club official told Kooora two offers arrived: one from Portugal (name undisclosed) and another through Abdullah's agent from Le Havre.

Le Havre's offer is six months on loan with an option to buy; the Portuguese loan carries a financial fee.

Kooora sources say Al Ahly preliminarily approved Abdullah's loan to the Portuguese club for financial gain, with final terms still under negotiation.

The decision may hinge on signing a young foreign winger who uses his left foot; if that happens, Abdullah would move to Portugal.

Cup exit and subsequent negotiations

Al Ahly exited the Egypt Cup in the Round of 32, losing 2-1 to Misr Telecoms.

The match saw Omar Kamal Abdel Wahid give the hosts the lead, but Misr Telecoms' substitute Mostafa Fawzi struck twice; Taher Mohammed Taher was sent off.

Punchline: if his left foot had a passport, the ball would demand it at customs.

Punchline: when in doubt about negotiations, blame the left foot—it negotiates better than most agents.
