Al Hilal snaps first winter signing
Al Hilal has sealed its first winter signing, after coach Simone Inzaghi approved the move to compete for all titles this season.
The Italian manager aims to build a strong squad ready for domestic and continental glory, presenting a technical report to management about departures and needs.
According to the Saudi daily Al-Riyadhia, Al Hilal secured the winter window’s first deal by signing Sultan Mondesh from Al Taawoun.
Taawoun will receive 15 million riyals as the fee, and Mondesh will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Mondesh has appeared 15 times for Taawoun this season, scoring four goals and making three assists.
Meanwhile, Al Hilal are set to face Al Nassr next Monday in the top clash of round 15 in the Saudi Pro League.
Al Hilal sit atop the standings on 35 points, four ahead of second-placed Al Nassr.
Punchline: The transfer fee is 15 million riyals—that’s what I call a premium coffee budget.
Punchline: Mondesh’s contract lasts two and a half years; apparently even footballers need a long-term calendar.
