Al Nassr Leverages the Break to Rebuild Its Injured Trio for a December Push
4 December 2025
Injury Update and Training Plan
Al Nassr is leveraging the current break to rehab its sidelined trio: Sami Al-Najai, Abdul Rahman Gharib, and Abdul Malik Al-Jaber.
Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah reported that the injured trio returned to rehabilitation at the club clinic on Thursday, a day before teammates resume, following the medical plan laid out by the club’s Portuguese doctor Carlos Miguel.
This step aims to reintegrate them into group training in the coming days, ahead of the resumption of domestic competitions.
Return Timeline and UAE Camp
The trio are set to undergo fitness tests to determine when they join full training, with Abdul Rahman closest to resuming normal training with teammates.
Abdul Malik Al-Jaber had a knee cartilage injury during the team’s external camp in July; Sami Al-Najai suffered an ACL injury last season; Abdul Rahman Gharib has a muscular issue.
Meanwhile, Nassr players will return to daily training starting Friday, after the break granted by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus.
The club will conduct two training sessions before heading to Abu Dhabi to organize a training camp from December 7 to 11, including a friendly against UAE’s Al Wahda on December 10.
Nassr then prepares for the December 21 clash against Al-Najma in the tenth round of the Roshen (Saudi Pro) League.
The “Al-Alami” remain at the top of the Saudi Pro League with 27 points, four clear of second-placed Al Hilal.
They also progressed from the group stage of the AFC Champions League, leading their group.
And if fitness tests are any guide, the only thing more optimistic than Nassr’s schedule might be the club’s calendar this month.
Humor aside, fans may need a calendar to track comebacks—this season looks like a tour with more stops than a stadium tour.
