Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus says teammate Gabriel Magalhaes, returning from injury, boosted the defense when he came on in the Brighton match today.

On the return of Gabriel from injury, he said: "As everyone saw, his entrance completely changed our back line; we were conceding chances, but as soon as he came on, the difference was clear, a true leader and tough defender. His return is huge for us."

And he added: "I'm happy with my strong return, I'm here in good health, I thank God for helping me in these moments, the comeback was scary."

Continued: "Everyone knows how tough the Premier League is, and the title race; City have won many cups, and now we are more experienced with a bigger squad."

And he concluded: "It's wonderful to be at the top and chase the Premier League; Arsenal belong here, and I hope we make it this year."

Win boosted Arsenal to 42 points and return to the top after City beat Nottingham Forest.

Brighton stay with 24 points in eleventh place.
