Three Barça players named among Globe Soccer Awards nominees
Barcelona president Joan Laporta expressed pride that three Barça players feature in the Globe Soccer Awards nominees, a reflection of the value the club continues to provide on the world stage.
In an interview with Abu Dhabi TV, Laporta explained that having a notable number of Barça nominees at a global event like Globe Soccer acts as a morale boost for the club and its supporters, underscoring the enduring stature Barça holds despite ongoing challenges.
He added that the club’s main objective remains to deliver entertaining football that reflects the team’s identity.
Moreover, Laporta stressed that this recognition does not override the priority of competing for domestic and continental titles.
He did not hide some disappointment at Barça’s absence from the FIFA Club World Cup, noting that participation in such global tournaments is a legitimate ambition for the club and that everyone at Barça will push to return to this stage soon.
