Historic debut milestone

Outshining a Barcelona teammate.

Barcelona advances in the Copa del Rey

The young Barca defender Pau Kobarci set a historic mark in a 2-0 win over Guadalajara (a third-division side) on Tuesday night at the Pedro Escartín stadium, sealing Barca's progress to the Copa del Rey's round of 16.

According to Opta, Kobarci, aged 18 years and 328 days, becomes the youngest defender to reach 100 official appearances in La Liga and related competitions since at least 2013-14.

He thus surpassed teammate Alejandro Balde, who hit the milestone against Leganés in December 2014 at 21 years and 58 days.

Barcelona's goals came from Andreas Christensen in the 76th minute and Marcus Rashford in stoppage time.

Punchline 1: If speed were measured in precision, Kobarci would need a bigger stopwatch.

Punchline 2: And if the ball had a credit score, his would be off the charts.
