Update: Benzema's Fitness for the Hilal vs Al Khulood Showdown
The French striker Karim Benzema's status for the upcoming Al Hilal clash with Al Khulood was clarified after his absence against Al Taawun due to injury.
Al Hilal announced Benzema would miss Saturday's game at the Kingdom Arena in the 27th round of the Roshen Pro League because of a toe injury.
Saudi journalist Hamad Al-Suwailehi, posting on X, said Benzema should be fit for the next game against Al Khulood.
The match is set to be played on Wednesday at Kingdom Arena.
Since joining Al Hilal in the winter window after leaving Al Ittihad, Benzema has appeared in six games, scoring five goals and contributing two assists.
This is the French forward's third absence due to injury this season, after missing the Al Taawun clash postponed from Round 10 and the Al Shabab game in Round 24 for the same reason.
Kick-off remains scheduled for Wednesday, as Al Hilal hosts Al Khulood at Kingdom Arena.
Since joining in winter, Benzema has six appearances, five goals, and two assists.
This marks his third injury-related absence this season, following the Taawun and Shabab matches.
Punchline 1: If injuries were goals, Benzema would already be on fire.
Punchline 2: Hopefully the comeback is quicker than my WiFi.
