Enppi ends Ceramica Cleopatra's Capital Cup title defense in a 2-0 win
Ceramica Cleopatra, holders of the Capital Cup, suffered a fresh setback as Enppi defeated them 2-0 on Tuesday in the fifth round of Group A, ending their title defense.
Enppi went ahead after just two minutes from a penalty awarded for a foul on Ragab Nabil, and Ahmed El-Ajooz converted from the spot.
Omar El-Gazar picked up an early injury after 14 minutes and was replaced by Ahmed Hani as Ceramica tried to steady the ship.
Ahmed Khalil, nicknamed Kalusha, doubled Enppi's lead in the 90+2 minute from another penalty.
Ceramica Cleopatra remain on three points, sitting sixth and near the bottom of the table, while Enppi rise to nine and sit second on goal difference behind Pharco, who slip to third. Talaea El Gaish still lead Group A with ten.
Petrojet edge El Gouna to drive Group B dynamics
In Group B, Petrojet beat El Gouna 3-1. An own goal by Saber El-Sheimi gave Petrojet the lead in the 25th minute, while Nigerian Ojo Tolibi equalized for El Gouna in the 87th.
Petrojet then sealed it with late goals: Mustafa El-Badri in the 90+5 and Adham Hamid from a 90+12 penalty, securing a 3-1 win.
Under coach Said Eid, Petrojet rose to 12 points and topped the group, two points ahead of El Gouna in second.
Punchline 1: If defending a title were a recipe, Ceramica Cleopatra just served up burnt toast—still edible, but not championship material.
Punchline 2: In football, timing is everything; apparently the whistle wanted a cameo role in this show—spectators got the popcorn and the plot twists.
