Egypt Aims Higher: Trezeguet Promises a More Lethal Offense for AFCON Glory
4 January 2026
Egypt's Offense Comes of Age
Mahmoud Hassan 'Trezeguet', a star for Egypt, said the Pharaohs are fully ready to face Benin tomorrow in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 in Morocco.
Praising their respect for every opponent, he explained that Egypt has watched Benin's recent matches and believes everyone is prepared to delight the Egyptian people.
He added: 'We are in Morocco with one goal—lifting the title and making the Egyptian people smile, not grimace, for the fans everywhere today'.
He noted that Egypt reaches the opponent's goal several times in every match, a positive sign; missing chances is normal in football, and the coaching staff is working in training to improve this aspect.
He stressed that Egypt has evolved offensively, reaching the opponent's goal through several attempts, and affirmed that all players share one objective: winning tournaments and lifting the title.
Egypt has not won the Africa Cup since 2010 under former coach Hassan Shehata; yet fans.
What to Expect Against Benin
And if persistence counted as goals, Egypt would be champions already.
And if the coach's whistle had a personal hotline to the net, we'd all be in overtime.
