Hamdallah fires back at critics: you simply don’t get football

Ahead of the Gulf Club Cup clash

Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah, of Al-Shabab Saudi, issued fierce remarks on the eve of facing Al-Rayyan in the Gulf Club Cup, denying any tension with his Spanish coach Imanol Al Jaoussil.

Hamdallah told reporters before the match that criticism linking his form to the coach’s style was unfounded, stressing his confidence in adapting to different tactical approaches.

He added, "I have played under sixteen different managers in my career, and I’ve learned to adjust to a range of systems; talk that I can’t adapt to the manager’s method comes from people who don’t understand football".

The Moroccan star continued: "Complete respect for the coach and his decisions is the foundation of teamwork. We’ve started a new page in the squad. From tomorrow you’ll see me cooperating with the coach and my teammates, making Al-Shabab a force to reckon with".

He also spoke about personal ambitions, affirming trust in the management and players: "I have won titles with most of the clubs I’ve played for, and I have strong faith in the coach, the players, and the new administration".

He concluded, "My focus now is to win tomorrow and qualify, and with time I aim to add another trophy to Al-Shabab’s cabinet".
