Imam Ashour, Egypt's midfield star, declared the Pharaohs ready to face Benin tomorrow, in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16, as the tournament unfolds in Morocco.
The Egyptians aim to win to advance to the quarterfinals, in their quest for a historic eighth continental title.
Ashour said in remarks to CAF's official website on Sunday that since the first match, we treated every game as a final, topping the group ahead of strong sides like South Africa.

We have closed the group stage for good, and all our focus remains on facing Benin in the Round of 16, the most crucial challenge at this stage.
Regarding Benin, the Al Ahly star said there are no weak teams in Africa anymore. We are ready to face any opponent; our aim is to win the eighth title and return the cup to Egypt. The competition is fierce, but we have high-caliber players and are ready for the challenge.
Africa's football is evolving for the better, and it's natural that big teams like Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia reach the Round of 16, thanks to talented players and top coaches.
Ashour added, 'Egyptian fans are the number one players. We thank them for their unwavering support, and God willing we will do all we can to please them and win the continental title.'
Egypt sealed a spot in the Round of 16 by topping Group B with seven points, while Benin advanced as third in Group D with three points.
