Sharjah sealed the UAE Emaar Super Cup for the third time in their history, defeating Shabab Al Ahli Dubai 3-2 in a gripping final held at Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai on Saturday. Both sides earned a penalty apiece, and the match delivered late drama until the final whistle.
Shabab Al Ahli opened the scoring early by converting a penalty in the third minute, while Caio Lucas equalized for Sharjah from a spot-kick in the 26th minute.
Sharjah then went ahead through Luán Pereira in the 29th minute, but Shabab Al Ahli struck back through Bruno Cascardo Lemus in the 37th to send the teams level at the break.
In the second half, the tempo cooled at times but remained competitive, until substitute Osman Kamara netted the decisive goal for Sharjah in the 78th minute, capitalizing on a miscue by Shabab Al Ahli’s goalkeeper Hamad Al-Moqabli.
Sharjah finished the match with ten men after captain Shahin Abdul Rahman was sent off in the 84th minute, while a late Shabab Al Ahli goal was ruled offside in stoppage time, sealing a dramatic victory for the Sharjah side.
