A kind gesture from the Senegal star toward his former Liverpool teammate.
Mané, Senegal's star, offered a kind gesture to Mohamed Salah, Egypt's captain, after the match in AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
The Senegalese side edged a 1-0 victory over the Pharaohs in the semi-final, earning a place in the final, where they will face the winner of Morocco vs. Nigeria.
Mané sealed the win with a first-rate strike from the ground with about 12 minutes left, while Salah and his teammates failed to score.
A video from Al Kass shows Mané checking on Salah, as the ex-Liverpool man walked over to greet his former teammate, plus Omar Marmoush and several Pharaohs stars.
Mané and Salah shared the pitch at Liverpool from 2017 to 2022, totaling 223 appearances across all competitions.
During that spell, Mané set up Salah 18 times, while the Egyptian added 17 assists for the Senegalese.
Despite the numbers, British media have long speculated about ongoing tensions between the two, who helped write Liverpool's history before Mane left for Bayern Munich and then Al Nassr.
This is Mane's second goal against Egypt in six meetings across all competitions, with four wins, one draw and one defeat.
Punchline: Mane's handshake had more class than my WiFi—both keep dropping signals, yet one still leaves everyone smiling.
Punchline: If football diplomacy paid the bills, Salah and Mane would retire to a villa with fans complaining about the service.
