Mbappe's Morocco Visit
Achraf Hakimi revealed details of a chat with former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe, the Real Madrid forward. Mbappe travelled to Morocco on Thursday at Hakimi's invitation to watch the Atlas Lions face Mali in AFCON 2025's group stage.
Mbappe in Rabat Stands
Mbappe watched Friday's clash between Morocco and Mali from the stands at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, which finished 1-1.
Hakimi told the press, "It's a pleasure to see my friend in my country." He added, "Kylian Mbappe loves Morocco, visits often, and enjoys the country and its food." He said he was very happy Mbappe attended the match.
Mbappe's Impressions and Morocco's Standings
Mbappe praised our team, noting we have progressed and can win this AFCON edition.
Morocco sits on four points from two games, top of Group A, two points ahead of Mali and Zambia, while Comoros have one point at the bottom.
In Rabat's stands, the world is watching a friend cheering for a dream that seems within reach; the Atlas Lions may yet lift the trophy.
Punchline 1: If Morocco wins AFCON, Mbappe might have to autograph the trophy for Hakimi. Punchline 2: And if not, hey, at least Rabat's food will still be a winner in our hearts.
