Messi's GOAT India Tour kicks off with four-city swing
All eyes turn to India as Lionel Messi, captain of Inter Miami and Argentina, heads for a four-city G.O.A.T India Tour 2025.
According to Sky News, tickets for the meet-and-greet with the Argentinian icon will be around $1,100, and include a handshake, a group photo with six fans, access to a premium dining lounge, and hospitality for the Delhi leg.
The tour will span three days, starting in Kolkata, then Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi, with Messi set to play matches in all four cities.
During the journey, a 21-meter statue of Messi is announced for unveiling, and fans can visit the HOLA MESSI fan zone featuring a life-size statue on a throne, a trophy-filled hall, and a Miami home replica with dolls on the balcony.
The Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata will host a concert and special events, and Messi is expected to meet stars such as Shah Rukh Khan during the tour. The organizers call the experience a once-in-a-lifetime event, per Terbona sports site.
In addition, Messi will tour a series of football matches across the four cities.
Punchlines: For $1,100 you get a handshake, a memory, and bragging rights that are worth more than your first car. And if the statue is 21 meters tall, you might need a taller ceiling to store the excitement.
