Neymar’s World Cup 2026 Fate Revealed by Ancelotti: If He’s Fit, He’s In
6 December 2025
Neymar's World Cup Status
Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti has clarified Neymar's status for Brazil ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Speaking to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti said: "I understand your keen interest in Neymar, but I want to clarify the matter".
He added: "We are in December and the World Cup is in June; when the list is announced in May, if Neymar is in good shape and deserves to be there, he will be included. End of story".
World Cup 2026 Context
The 2026 World Cup kicks off in June in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Brazil qualified for the tournament by finishing fifth in CONMEBOL with 28 points.
Neymar has not joined Brazil for the past two years due to repeated injuries and a noticeable dip in fitness.
The World Cup draw in Washington placed Brazil in Group 3 alongside Morocco, Haiti and Scotland.
Punchline 1: Neymar's calendar has more injuries than a soap opera. Punchline 2: If fitness were a trophy, Neymar would have a whole shelf.
