Rabiot: Milan can challenge the Serie A title
French international Adrien Rabiot believes his side can still win the Italian league despite Inter Milan's three-point lead.
Milan travel to Fiorentina on Sunday after dropping two points in their last match, a 1-1 draw with Genoa.
The Rossoneri have not lost in Serie A since the opening round, when they were defeated by Cremonese.
Keeping the unbeaten run and mental edge
If Milan avoid defeat this week, they will reach the 19th round undefeated, a feat achieved only a few times in the three-points-for-a-win era (1995-96, 2003-04, 2004-05).
Rabiot said that January is just the start of a long season running toward May, with many games and direct clashes ahead.
He added that they must stay calm, regain energy for Sunday’s match, and keep working; they are ready and not worried.
He also noted that Milan must start strong but sometimes are not mentally present, and that they improve after the break yet cannot play 50 minutes in a game; the mental side will continue to be worked on.
Punchline 1: Milan’s strategy is simple — wait for Inter to misplace their calendar, then pounce. It’s football, not hide-and-seek, though the defense sometimes hides quite well.
Punchline 2: If Milan win the title, they’ll deserve a trophy photo caption: Patience paid off. If not, at least the calendar gets an annual cameo.
