Rodrygo’s Fatigue, Not Injury, Sparks Real Madrid Confidence After La Liga Win
15 December 2025
Rodrygo’s Condition Clarified
Spanish press clarified that Brazilian Rodrygo did not suffer a new injury during the match against Deportivo Alavés.
Rodrygo shone again, scoring the decisive goal as Real Madrid beat Alavés 2-1 at Mendizorroza in La Liga matchday 17.
Rodrygo hit the turf and left in the 83rd minute, replaced by Ibrahim Diaz, raising concerns among Madrid fans, especially since Diaz will travel to Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations with the Atlas Lions.
Match Performance and Substitution
According to AS, Rodrygo did not suffer an injury but endured some fatigue due to not being a regular starter in recent weeks.
Rodrygo started against Manchester City and played the full match, then again started against Alavés.
The newspaper noted that Rodrygo has scored in back-to-back games for the second time after a drought since March.
It adds that he is beginning to regain his form, even though he has not been in his preferred left-wing role.
Looking Ahead
He is expected to be ready for Real Madrid vs Talavera in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, and for the league clash with Sevilla next week.
Madrid’s coach praised Rodrygo’s professionalism and emphasized the team remains focused on upcoming challenges in both cup and league.
Punchline 1: If fatigue had a soundtrack, Rodrygo’s would be a gentle hum—still louder than my weekend plans.
Punchline 2: Real Madrid’s left wing might finally learn to balance, or at least the bench will learn to balance the jokes with the applause.
