Roma Eyes United Striker on Loan
Roma is weighing a loan move for Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee to strengthen their attack ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Deal Structure and Recent Form
According to Sky Italia, Roma plan to open a formal offer on Friday and would prefer a temporary loan with a future option to buy if certain conditions are met.
Earlier this month, Sky Sports revealed Manchester United are aware of Roma's interest, but there is no active push to sell Zirkzee as the January window opens.
The Dutch international, 24, has recently left his mark under coach Ruben Amorim, scoring the equaliser in United's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last month. That goal is his only one this season in 11 appearances across all competitions.
The former Bayern Munich forward joined Old Trafford from Bologna in the summer of 2024 for £36.5 million, but has struggled to cement a regular place and has tallied eight goals in 60 appearances for United in all competitions.
Punchline: If Roma pull this off, their attackers will finally stop chasing the ball and start scoring. Punchline 2: Zirkzee to Rome? Finally, a transfer with a built-in compass to the goal.
