Unbreakable record persists
Saudi Arabia extends its historic edge over Palestine
The Saudi national team preserved its perfect record against Palestine, after today's Thursday night victory by a 2-1 scoreline, in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Arab Cup.
Across their head-to-head history, the teams have met 10 times, with The Falcons securing 6 wins and four draws, while Palestine has yet to taste a victory in the series.
In the Arab Cup proper, the rivals have faced each other four times across three editions, with Saudi winning two, drawing two, and remaining unbeaten against Palestine in the competition.
The first Arab Cup meeting dates back to 1992 when the Green Falcons won 2-1; the 2012 clash ended 1-1, the same score as their 2021 meeting.
In World Cup qualifying, the two sides met four times, Saudi two wins and two draws, including a 5-0 Saudi victory in 2021 during the 2022 qualifiers, marking their biggest win in the series.
They also clashed in the 2005 West Asian Games, a 2-0 Saudi win, and in a 2014 friendly that finished 2-0 in favor of the Saudis.
Punchline time: if football were a language, the Saudis would be fluent in brackets and clean sheets. Also, my coaching dream is to hire their defense as my personal Wi-Fi—strong and never dropping off the line.
