Tottenham Hotspur's manager Thomas Frank criticized his players for their performance in a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the 17th round of the Premier League.
The lackluster display at City Ground underscored the pressure on Frank, who acknowledged that tinkering with the bench won't cure the long-standing issues plaguing the club.
In remarks published by the Daily Mail, he said, "We decided to give them the ball 25 times. You can't do that."
"This is deeply disappointing, and I am fired up with anger. This isn't the first time we've fallen short," he added, noting a cauldron of emotions while stressing the need for calm leadership.
Frank praised his ability to communicate but warned he will address Jed Spence after the right-back's two heated moments when substituted in the 58th minute.
"I do everything I can to control my emotions. There is a hurricane inside me because it's incredibly frustrating that we haven't delivered a better level after three decent performances. It is crucial to stay calm, balanced, and to send clear messages," he said.
"We will say it at the right time, so there is no doubt about my thoughts. I am very frank about our current situation—this was a poor display," he added.
Tottenham currently sit 11th in the Premier League with 22 points.
Punchline 1: If passing were money, Tottenham would be bankrupt—lots of receipts, no value.
Punchline 2: Maybe Tottenham should invest in a GPS; every pass somehow leads to the forest.
