Underdog Triumph: Egyptian Telcom Stuns Farco to Reach Egypt Cup Quarterfinals

Egyptian Telecommunications continued its Egypt Cup adventure by sealing a place in the quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory over Farco on Tuesday at the Burj Al Arab Stadium in Alexandria.

Ahmed Eid Abdullah opened the scoring for Egyptian Telecommunications in the 18th minute before Mustafa Fawzi added the second just before halftime.

Farco pressed for a reply through Karim Al-Tayeb in the 55th minute, but Egyptian Telecommunications clung to the win to advance to the last eight.

Road to the Quarterfinals

Under the guidance of Nigerian coach Aliu Zubero, Egyptian Telecommunications had already shocked Al Ahly 2-1 in the Round of 32.

Despite competing in the second division, the club has previously spent several seasons in the top flight.

They now meet the winner of the Bank Al Ahly vs Enppi clash in the quarterfinals.

In the other quarterfinals, the Petrojet–Modern Sport winner will face the winner of Gouna vs Pyramids.

And the victor of the Zamalek versus Ceramica Cleopatra match will face the winner from Talaea El Gaish vs Kahraba Ismailia.

And Haras El Hodoud will meet the winner of the Al Masry vs ZED tie.
