Dembele Wins The Best 2025 and Eyes 2026
Ousmane Dembele, star of Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team, claimed The Best FIFA Men's Player award for 2025 in Doha, joining the Ballon d'Or on his shelf.
With this victory, Dembele seals the two top individual prizes this year.
Looking Ahead to a Possible Back-to-Back
Speaking after the ceremony in the Qatari capital, Dembele said he hopes to win again in 2026. The French winger aims to mirror the streaks of Messi, Ronaldo and Lewandowski who won The Best in consecutive years in the past.
Ronaldo won in 2016 and 2017, Messi in 2022 and 2023, and Lewandowski in 2020 and 2021.
In his remarks, Dembele thanked his teammates, his family, PSG, the club president and staff, and FIFA president Gianni Infantino for a birthday message. He expressed happiness at the award.
Dembele, 26, earned the prize thanks to PSGs domestic treble — Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the Trophee des Champions — plus the club’s first ever Champions League and UEFA Super Cup titles, and a runner-up finish at the Club World Cup.
He noted a recent Intercontinental Cup link with Flamengo as part of PSGs growing international exposure.
Punchlines: If talent were a weapon, Dembele would bring a bazooka to the field. And the trophy cabinet at PSG is now a staircase — you keep climbing, the view keeps getting closer.
