Renewal Talks Focus on Ibanez
Al Ahli Jeddah is looking to repeat the Demiral plan by renewing the contract of Turkish star Merih Demiral with a new key player at the fortress of trophies in the near future.
Ibanez's Renewal Status and Impact
According to the Saudi newspaper Al Yaum, the western club is close to extending Brazilian Roger Ibanez's contract, after hours of positive negotiations between the player and the club.
Al Ahli wants to settle this by renewing Ibanez's deal until 2029, at the request of German coach Matthias Jaissle, who aims to keep the core of Asia's champions.
Ibanez has been one of Al Ahli's top players since arriving in the summer of 2023 from Roma, guiding the team to the AFC Champions League Elite and the Saudi Super Cup.
The 27-year-old Brazilian has appeared 95 times for the club across domestic and continental competitions, scoring 11 goals and recording 5 assists.
Earlier this week, Al Ahli announced the formal renewal of Turkish defender Merih Demiral's contract for three more years. Demiral joined the Saudi side in 2023 from Atalanta.
