Training drill sparks competition
Portuguese coach Sergio Conceicao, head coach of Al-Ittihad, sparked a special technical competition among his players during the team's training session as they prepare to face Al-Hazm in the tenth round of the Roshen Saudi Pro League.
At the end of the session, Conceicao decided to implement a competition among the players to strike the ball hitting the crossbar, with some players scoring with remarkable accuracy, notably Musa Diaby.
This step comes as a usual practice by coaches during international breaks to inject enthusiasm and positive spirit among players before resuming competitions.
Cup win and league hopes
Before the league's stoppage due to Saudi national team participation in the Arab Cup, Al-Ittihad defeated Al-Shabab 4-1 in the King Salman Cup quarterfinal.
In the league, Al-Ittihad still needs to improve its results, having collected 14 points in 9 games, occupying seventh place in the table.
Punchline 1: If crossbars were referees, Conceicao would be booking his own shots.
Punchline 2: Musa Diaby's accuracy was so sharp the crossbar filed for a restraining order against deflections.
