Dubai Camp Sparks Asia-Bound Focus
Portuguese coach Sergio Conceicao of Al-Ittihad sent a message to the club's western supporters after the Dubai training camp, which coincided with Saudi Arabia's national team taking part in the Arab Cup.
He wrote on X: "We are very pleased with the work done during this training camp, thanks to all staff, especially the players, for their commitment and high morale."
Conceicao added: "Now we move forward, focusing on the AFC Champions League. Thanks to our fans for their wonderful support. Come on, Tigers!"
The western club played two friendlies in Dubai, winning 6-0 against Pal City and 5-0 against Gulf United, scoring 11 goals while conceding none.
They are set to play another friendly in Jeddah, after the tenth round of the Saudi League was postponed due to the Arab Cup progress.
Conceicao's side will face Nasaf Qarshi of Uzbekistan in the AFC Champions League Elite on December 23.
Punchline 1: If they keep this up, the road to Asia might need its own speed limit.
Punchline 2: The drills are sharp, but the post-workout coffee might be the real star of this camp.
