Barcelona announced on Friday evening that it has renewed the contract of midfielder Eric Garcia for five additional years.
Barça announced on its official site that it had reached an agreement with Garcia to extend his contract for five more seasons, ending on June 30, 2031 altogether.

Juan Laporta, Barcelona's president, had said Thursday that Garcia had already renewed and that the announcement would come next Thursday, December 11, but the club announced the deal a few hours later than planned, surprising some fans.
