Gimenez on the radar: Milan striker weighing a January move as English clubs circle
3 December 2025
Gimenez's future under the English gaze
Santiago Gimenez's future at Milan is drawing strong attention from clubs worldwide, with reports suggesting the Mexican forward is weighing a move during the upcoming winter window as Premier League teams circle the Rossoneri this season globally.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan remains entirely open to listening to offers for Gimenez, while the player and his agent search for a new club in January 2026 next winter.
Gimenez has sat out for more than a month due to an ankle injury and is unlikely to feature in the upcoming two matches, while carrying out individual sessions at Milanello to regain sharpness consistently.
Injury, scoring and transfer interests
The Mexican striker has registered only one goal across all competitions this season and has yet to score in Serie A during the 2025-26 campaign as Milan weighs options.
Last summer he rejected moves to seek a starting berth at Milan, but early this season his involvement has dwindled under Massimiliano Allegri's plans, leaving his standing in the squad more fragile than a glass ceiling these days.
Sources say English clubs Sunderland, Brentford, and West Ham are among those tracking Gimenez, who moved to San Siro in January 2025 for 28.5 million euros plus variables as a potential upgrade.
Milan will remain open to deals while keeping an eye on other forwards, including Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta as a squad option.
Punchline: If transfer rumors paid the rent, Milan would own the stadium.
Punchline 2: If the January window had a soundtrack, it would be my WiFi buffering while he still waits for a goal.
