Darwin Núñez and Al Hilal: The Transfer Talk Explained
Global media tracked rumors that Uruguay striker Darwin Núñez, Al Hilal's forward, intends to leave the club during the upcoming winter transfer window, and officials quoted transfer rules.
Núñez arrived at Al Hilal from Liverpool for about €53 million, but Argentine and global reports recently claimed the forward is unhappy at the Saudi club and weighing a departure, perhaps returning to South America via River Plate.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a transfer market expert, via his X account, confirmed Núñez's representatives denied the rumours about him leaving.
He also emphasized Núñez is dedicated to Al Hilal.
Romano clarified Núñez is fully focused on his journey with Al Hilal and feels comfortable and happy at the club, with no thoughts of leaving in the near future.
Since joining Al Hilal last summer, Núñez has appeared in 11 games across all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing one assist, for a total of 666 minutes on the pitch. He has also missed several games due to injury.
He's currently competing for the starting role in attack, with Brazilian Marcus Leonardo shining and boasting a higher scoring rate than the former Liverpool ace, and the club benefits.
Punchline: If Núñez keeps scoring, the net will charge him rent.
Punchline 2: Transfer rumors? More like goal rumors.
