Mbappé’s Golden Run at the Bernabéu: Chasing Ronaldo’s Records with Real Madrid
Mbappé fuels Real Madrid’s title bid with another brace against Valencia.

Mbappé’s relentless run at the Bernabéu

The French star Kylian Mbappé is enjoying extraordinary moments at Real Madrid, turning into a relentless goal-scoring machine that seems to be marching toward Cristiano Ronaldo’s historic numbers at the Bernabeu.

He is not satisfied with mere brilliance; Mbappé keeps breaking records and challenging himself day by day, becoming the emblem of coach Xabi Alonso’s project.

According to AS, Mbappé now has his first Golden Boot in his career and appears to be on a path to multiply his value as he scores one goal after another, a sign of golden status soon.

The chase, records, and a Latvian twist

On the day he presented the award to Bernabeu fans, Mbappé sprinted toward the next target, bagging a brace against Valencia to reach 13 goals in 11 games, ahead of Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, with a surprise name, Darko Limaitich, heading the European tally for now.

Against Valencia, Mbappé scored twice and could have added a third, but chose to lead the team by passing the second penalty to Vinícius Júnior.

Yet no one can strip him of the top scorer crown, as he leads La Liga with 13 goals in 11 games, well clear of Julian Álvarez.

Mbappé’s total this season stands at 18 goals in 14 matches, an astonishing 1.29 goals per game, a pace reminiscent of Ronaldo’s golden era and a signature of Mbappé’s unique scoring style.

The French star is in a remarkable scoring spell, having scored in eight consecutive league matches, a streak only Cristiano Ronaldo has matched among Real Madrid’s modern greats (though Ronaldo did 10 in a row in 2014-15). Mbappé now eyes equalling or surpassing that mark in upcoming fixtures against Rayo Vallecano, Elche, and Girona.

He has reached 44 goals in his first 45 La Liga appearances—the best start in the competition since Ferenc Puskás, and ahead of Ronaldo’s 43 in his first 45 matches. With Mbappé on this trajectory, he is writing a new chapter for Real Madrid.

Darko Limaitich — an underrated hero — sits atop the European Golden Boot temporarily. The giant 199 cm forward plays for Riga FC in Latvia, having scored 27 goals in 29 league games, with just two rounds left in that league’s season.

Although Mbappé remains ahead in form, the difference in Golden Boot scoring systems leaves Limaitich temporarily on top, as the Latvian season ends and his name will soon fall away from Europe’s big stage—yet the moment of a Latvian striker leading a European race remains historic.

Chasing Ronaldo’s numbers remains Mbappé’s narrative. The French star often nods to Ronaldo’s example but resists direct comparisons, suggesting that people might one day dream of him as they dream of the Portuguese scorer.

At 1.29 goals per game, if he played every possible Madrid match this season (63), he could finish around 81 goals—far beyond Ronaldo’s best 61 in 2014-15. If this pace holds, he would need roughly 48 more matches to reach that legendary total.

Mbappé remains the driving force behind Madrid’s attack, delivering 18 of the team’s 34 goals this season, about 52.9% of the club’s total. He may not be Ronaldo, but he is writing a new story of dominance and impact in the Spanish capital.

His improved physical conditioning—reportedly shedding weight this summer and benefiting from Alonso’s trust—has turned Mbappé into Madrid’s chief leader of the project.

With Mbappé contributing more than half of Madrid’s goals, the club’s attack has a new face of menace and poise, shaping a season that fans hope ends with silverware and a narrative only sports fans could love.

Punchline 1: If Mbappé keeps this up, the only thing heavier than his goals will be the trophy cabinet in Madrid. Punchline 2: When Mbappé shoots, the goalposts file a post-match report complaining it needs a rest because the net won’t stop buzzing.
