Neymar Exonerated by Accuser, but a New Legal Threat Looms
8 March 2026
A sudden twist places the Brazilian star in a new light.
Clarifications and Reactions
French outlets disclosed truth about a judicial controversy linked Neymar to a housekeeper amid misreported claims from Brazilian media outlets.
Metropolis, the Brazilian site, reported that the woman filed a lawsuit against Neymar alleging labor violations or undeclared work. The report cited unpaid overtime and long hours at home.
According to RMC, the woman who worked at Neymar's Bougival home during PSG years said she never started formal court action against the player.
Marcela Lermi Mengorans, speaking on social media, stated: I never filed a labor-law lawsuit, nor took any action against Neymar or anyone connected to him.
The site previously said a former Neymar cook accused him of forcing her to work long hours under harsh conditions.
Mengorans said: In light of misinformation about me, I clarify: I worked with Neymar Jr. between 2013 and 2018, maintaining a professional relationship. On March 6, 2026, an Instagram post misused my image and tied my name to a supposed labor violation with no basis. This is false.
According to Metropolis, Marcela earned about 654 euros monthly, rising to 1200 with overtime, but she did not receive pay for extra hours.
The Brazilian site said she sought 43,000 euros to cover the shortfall plus medical and moral damages.
The former cook added: Legal action has begun to remove the content and hold the implicated media accountable referring to reports that published the claim.
Observers say the dispute underscores how quickly online chatter can become headlines in media.
Punchline: rumor goals? Neymar's got the hat-trick.
