Roma's stance on Saud Abdul Hamid's return
Frederick Massara, the Sporting Director of AS Roma, clarified the Giallorossi's position on Saud Abdul Hamid's potential return to the Saudi Pro League during the current winter transfer window.
Abdul Hamid's name had been linked with a move to Al Hilal to replace their Portuguese teammate Joao Cancelo, who was removed from the squad after a long injury.
Massara told Saudi newspaper Al Riyadiyah there is no interest from Saudi Pro League clubs in signing Abdul Hamid, who is currently on loan to Lens.
What happens next and Lens context
He added: "Roma has received no offers or indications of interest from the Saudi Pro League, and all rumors in this regard are false."
He also stated that no decision will be made during the current winter window about Abdul Hamid's fate; the final call will be taken at the end of the season.
It's worth noting that Lens signed Abdul Hamid last summer on loan from Roma until the end of the season with an option to buy.
Punchline 1: Bang! The rumor hits the bullseye—only to realize it's just a headline.
Punchline 2: In football transfers, the clock strikes later than my coffee—the window may close, but the memes never do.
