Fernandez recounted on the show 'In the Net' that he asked his friend Diogo Dalot, a Manchester United player, to ask Ronaldo if he could obtain his shirt before last season’s clash.

Dalot said he relayed the request, and Ronaldo agreed to lend his shirt, a moment that filled Georgi with immense joy.

Afterwards, he recalls, Ronaldo seemed irritated following a draw with Nasr, yet Georgi approached him and said, 'Cristiano, I’m Dalot’s friend and asked for your shirt.'

Supposedly, Ronaldo stormed to the locker room, and for a moment the chances seemed lost, until a close associate whispered that the shirt was indeed Fernandez’s.

He celebrated with his family, hung the jersey at home, and swore not to wash it, for it carries the sweat of the idol he adores.
