Afsha Departure Moves Forward
Al Ahly has provisionally signaled a departure for Mohamed Magdi Afsha in the upcoming winter window.
A trusted club source told Kooora that the Danish head coach Yis Turup does not oppose Afsha's exit, whether by permanent sale or January loan.
The source noted that Afsha has been among the club’s most beloved players, dating back to his goal against Zamalek in the 2020 CAF Champions League final.
However, Afsha now appears outside Turup’s plans, with no role in the coach’s tactical setup foreseen.
Regarding Afsha’s destination, the coach indicated there are no external offers yet, only inquiries from a few local clubs about his situation.
Al Ahly is set to face El Mokawloon Al Arab today (Tuesday) in the fourth round of Group One of the Cairo Capital Cup, with kickoff at 5 pm at the Al Salam Stadium. The competition began in the 2021-2022 season with the Professional Clubs Association, and in the past four seasons Modern Sport has won the first edition while Ceramica Cleopatra has claimed the next three.
Punchline: If Afsha leaves, his future club will be getting a stylish playmaker who knows how to find the net—sometimes even when the map says blocked.
Punchline: If January comes and there’s no deal, Afsha can always reinvent himself as a pundit—he already has a knack for headlines, after all.
