After the Break, Al Nassr Roars: The Saudi Pro League Title Bid Rolls On
3 April 2026
Post-break chase for the title
The World-class Al Nassr side hopes to extend its winning streak in the Roshen Saudi Pro League as it chases the elusive title last won seven years ago, resuming league duties after the March international window.
Leading the standings with 67 points, Al Nassr hosts Al Najma, who sit last with 8 points, on Friday at Al-Nassr Park, in the 27th round of Roshen.
The World side will lean on its post international break form to defend the title this season.
Post break results and standings
According to the Saudi daily Al Riyadhiah, Nassr remains the only team to win the opening game after a break in all three international windows this season.
The Saudi league paused for FIFA international windows in September, October, and November of last year.
The fourth break came in December for the Arab Cup 2025 in Qatar, but it was not a FIFA international window like the prior breaks.
After the September, October and November pauses Nassr beat two opponents 2-0 and 5-1, and 4-1 in round 9 after the November pause.
Beyond Nassr, no other team has posted a perfect post-break record, with three sides collecting seven points from two wins and a draw: Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Taawon.
Meanwhile, only two teams have six points from post breaks: Al Khaleej and Al Hazm, while Al Ahli and Al Shabab have five points from one win and two draws.
Nassr remains in a tight title chase, trailing second-placed Al Hilal by three points and Al Ahli by five.
Punchline 1: If goals were bullets, Nassr would be mowing down defenses with a laser sight.
Punchline 2: After the break, the only thing sharper than Nassr finishing is the crowd timing — spot on, and back to the grind.
