Mitrovic: The Unstoppable Beast Haunting the Saudi Pro League

Inside the locker room: Bento’s blunt verdict on Mitrovic
In a revealing interview on X Sports Brazil, Bento Matheus, the reliable goalkeeper for Al-Nasr, described Alexander Mitrović as a ruthless monster in the box who makes life miserable for center-backs and goalkeepers alike. Mitrović now stars for Al Rayyan after a formative stint at Al Hilal.
Mitrović joined Al Hilal in the summer of 2023 and departed two seasons later due to a back-muscle injury that slowed him and limited his moments of magic in front of goal.
Speaking to X Sports Brazil, Bento recalled facing a league stacked with top players, noting that Karim Benzema and later N’Golo Kanté were among the best he confronted before Kanté moved to Turkey.
Bento insisted Mitrović's aerial power and predatory instincts defined him, turning every cross and corner into a potential nightmare for defenders.
On cultural differences, he said the Saudi environment is distinct, with its own customs and atmosphere, yet the love of football shines in every stadium and every crowd.
He added that despite the geographic distance between South America and the Arab world, the passion for football comes from the heart, uniting players and fans across continents.
Discussing the dream of representing Brazil at a World Cup, he said it is a huge responsibility and that every player must be ready to seize the moment when the opportunity arises.
He concluded that he will keep working with discipline and intensity to reach that level, because the daily grind remains the same, no matter the club or country.
Punchline: If Mitrović heads for your net, mercy is optional—the ball doesn’t negotiate. Punchline 2: My coffee can’t keep up with his pace; by the time I blink, the ball has already hit the back of the net.
