Al-Hamdān’s Bold Call: Saudi Arabia Aims for a Perfect Run Against Morocco
7 December 2025
Preview: Al-Hamdān’s Challenge to Morocco
Abdullah Al-Hamdān, Saudi Arabia's forward, raised the banner of challenge ahead of the highly anticipated clash with Morocco, scheduled for tomorrow as part of the Arab Cup 2025.
Speaking at the press conference, Al-Hamdān said: "Morocco is tough and strong; our preparations for this game are substantial."
He added: "We haven't faced a major defensive crisis in our wins over Oman and Comoros, but there were small mistakes. What matters is that we qualified, and we aim to keep a clean sheet while topping the group."
We target maximum points; he admitted the Morocco game will be difficult, but our goal is clear.
He also commented on the new injury rule: "I think it's very positive; it's good that the game pace remains fast and continuous—it's football's joy."
Referee Rule Update and World Cup Draw Context
Earlier, FIFA's referees chief Pierluigi Colina announced a trial modification to refereeing rules for the Arab Cup 2025.
The change requires removing an injured player from the field for two minutes after play restarts if medical staff treat him and no real injury is found.
Regarding the World Cup draw, Al-Hamdān noted Saudi Arabia was placed in Group 8 with Uruguay, Spain, and Cabo Verde. "The world watched the draw—our group is among the toughest," he said, "but our focus remains on the Arab Cup, and we have seven months to prepare for the World Cup."
Punchline 1: If football had a speed limit, Al-Hamdān would break it—fast as he runs, even the clock-criers would struggle to keep up.
Punchline 2: And when they say 'injury time,' he checks his watch and says, "Perfect—I'm right on schedule."
