Big Winter Shake-Up: Hamdan Nears Al Nassr Deal as Kamara Heads Out on Loan
1 February 2026
Giorgio Jesus gives the green light for Haroun Kamara’s departure as Abdullah Hamdan nears a move.
Saudi press reports indicate that Al Nassr’s coach, Jorge Jesus, has decided Kamara should be loaned out while the club advances toward finalizing a deal to sign Abdullah Hamdan from Al Hilal.
Jesus reportedly believes Kamara is not essential for the remainder of the season, especially with Hamdan’s arrival in sight.
Kamara, 28, has not featured regularly since joining from Al Shabab last summer, with eight appearances across all competitions to date.
In the Saudi Pro League, Kamara has appeared in three matches, totaling 69 minutes, recording one goal and one assist.
The striker’s competition in attack includes Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohammed Meran.
The club is focusing on closing several transfer deals in the final hours of the January window, aiming to strengthen under Jesus as Al Nassr chases the Roshen Saudi Pro League title and AFC Champions League glory.
Hamdan to Al Nassr
Earlier, the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadia reported fresh developments in Hamdan’s potential move to Al Nassr, noting that club officials are prepared to hold a new round of talks with Al Hilal to seal the winter deal.
Al Hilal previously refused to part with the forward in this window, particularly with his contract running until February 6, after the transfer window would close.
The report suggests Hamdan is considering unilateral contract termination if the club remains reluctant to sell during this winter window.
Upon completion, Hamdan would sign with Al Nassr on a four-and-a-half-year contract, expiring in 2030.
Hamdan has been with Al Hilal since February 2021 but has failed to secure a regular starting spot, having appeared in 145 matches with 13 goals and 10 assists.
Should the deal go through, Hamdan would join a squad featuring Ronaldo and Meran, adding depth to Al Nassr’s attacking options as they target domestic and continental success.
Two punchlines to keep the mood light: 1) If Kamara ends up benched, at least the stadiums will get a certifiable “seat warmer of the year” award. 2) In football, transfers are like my gym membership—great in theory, all the drama happens when you actually try to sign up.
