CAF approves calendar shift for AWCON
The African Confederation of Football (CAF) has bowed to the Moroccan federation’s request to adjust the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) schedule.

Originally, Morocco was slated to host the AWCON finals from March 17 to April 3.
CAF announced on its official site that the finals will now be staged from July 25 to August 16.
The move followed discussions among CAF, FIFA, and other stakeholders to ensure the tournament’s success.
The CAF statement added that preparations for AWCON are ongoing and that all parties are confident of a great tournament.
Earlier reports had indicated that the Moroccan federation had requested the date change.
