Chelsea avoided the potential collapse at home as they hosted Arsenal, despite a numerical disadvantage, and settled for a 1-1 draw in Sunday’s Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea took the lead in the 48th minute through Trevoh Chalobah, before Mikel Merino equalized for the visitors 11 minutes later.
With the result, Arsenal remained top on 30 points, while Chelsea sat third, six points behind.
The opening ten minutes were quiet, as both sides kept to a tight shape and avoided giving the other a sniff.
The first real moment came in the 13th minute when Saka cut inside from the right and fired a low effort saved by Robert Sanchez with his feet.
Estevao then had a chance inside the box but blasted the ball into the stands, wasting a promising window to go ahead for Chelsea.

Three minutes into the second half, Chelsea moved in front through Chalobah, who rose highest to meet James’s cross and lift his side from the pressure after Kaissido’s red card.
Arsenal quickly sought a reply through Saka, who fired from the edge of the box, but Sanchez made a straightforward save.

The visitors leveled the scores a few minutes later through Merino, who headed home a Saka cross from the right.
Garnacho surged down the left, delivering a cross into the box for Neto to attack, but his header lacked power, allowing Raya to gather easily.
In the 72nd minute, Arteta brought on striker Gio Kieris, returning from injury, in a bid to bolster the attack.
The substitute Delab fired a powerful low effort from the edge of the box toward the far corner, but Raya parried.
Arsenal failed to capitalize on the numerical advantage, with the Blues' defense holding firm and Chelsea pressing for chances as the match wore on.
Neto drove from midfield toward the edge of the Arsenal area, only for his curler to miss the target.
Sanchez again excelled, denying Merino a low strike; Kieris followed the rebound but Raya charged out to clear, resulting in a foul on the Chelsea goalkeeper and a yellow for Arsenal’s striker.
The closing minutes produced little clear-cut danger, and the referee finally blew the whistle on a 1-1 draw.
