The Egyptian club Wadi Degla announced on Wednesday that it has signed Croatian midfielder Danijel Mischic on a free transfer until the summer of 2027.
Mischic reportedly signed the contract in the presence of club officials before joining the team’s training.
He previously played alongside Mateo Kovacic for Croatia's Under-20 national team.
Mischic began his career with Dinamo Zagreb, then moved to NK Lokomotiva, before taking his talents to Slovenia with several clubs, including NK Olimpija Ljubljana, and he also had a spell with FC Ural in Russia.
He becomes Wadi Degla's first winter signing, with the club yet to decide whether to part with any current players.
On the domestic front, Degla sit sixth with 20 points and have reached the quarter-finals of Egypt's Capital Cup.
Looking ahead, Wadi Degla are scheduled to face Ghazl El Mahalla in the Egyptian Premier League on 22 January 2026 at 16:00.
