Kane heads Bayern to a commanding derby win at the Allianz Arena.

Match recap

Bayern Munich pressed on with their perfect start, sealing a seventh consecutive victory by defeating their rivals Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on Saturday evening at the Allianz Arena, in the Bundesliga’s Week 7 clash.

The Bavarians’ goals came from Harry Kane in the 22nd minute and Michael Olise in the 79th, while Dortmund’s lone goal was scored by Julian Brandt in the 84th.

With the result, Bayern extended their lead at the top to 21 points with a perfect record.

Dortmund slipped to fourth with 14 points.

The Bavarian giants ended their winless run against Dortmund that had stretched across their last three meetings.

Bayern’s early pressure featured a powerful long-range effort from Joshua Kimmich in the fourth minute that forced a corner from Kobel.

At the 11th minute, a curving strike from Olise from the right side of the box tested Kobel after a move that started with a Diaz dribble.

The opening goal arrived in the 22nd minute when Kane rose highest to meet a cross from Kimmich and headed Bayern ahead.

According to Opta, Kane has 12 league goals this season; aside from Bayern, Eintracht Frankfurt (17) and Bayer Leverkusen (16) are the only teams with more goals by a player.

Bayern looked for a second in the 30th minute with a shot from outside the area that deflected off Dortmund’s defense and went narrowly wide of Kobel.

Diaz then set up danger in the 32nd minute with a ball into the box for a forward whose shot narrowly missed the target.

In the 35th minute, Kane appeared again with a curling effort from the left edge of the box that narrowly missed the far post.

The post denied Bayern a second in the 36th minute after a well-worked move from Olise.

In the 40th minute, Diaz surged into the area and shot, which Anton deflected; Kimmich followed up with another attempt that Kobel saved, leaving the first half with Bayern leading 1-0.

Dortmund started the second half with a substitution, Ben Sebaini coming on for Zolle.

Dortmund had a clear chance to level in the 49th minute when Nmecha rose for a header from a set-piece, narrowly missing the target.

The visitors continued to press, with Svensson testing the defense on the left in the 59th minute, but the ball went wide.

At the 61st minute, Bayern coach Kovac sent on Goretzka for Jackson, sharpening midfield aggression.

Dortmund’s threats persisted as Jirasi played a through ball to Adem in the box in the 65th minute, but Adem’s dribble was halted and his follow-up shot went wide.

Olise produced another moment of danger in the 67th minute with a powerful strike from the right that tested Kobel.

In the 74th minute, Kovac made further changes, bringing on Pierre and Bellingham for Sabitzer and Adem amid some frustration from the bench.

The game swung Bayern’s way when Brandt struck in the 84th minute after a cross from the right; the ball reached Brandt in the six-yard area and he found the net under pressure.

In the 90th minute, Schlotterbek fired a low shot from the edge of the area that just missed the far post.

To kill time, Kovac introduced Min-Jae Kim in the second minute of stoppage time, replacing Pavlovic, as Bayern saw the clock down.

Diaz broke into the box in stoppage time and fired a shot that Kobel brilliantly saved from inside the area, sealing a 2-1 Bayern win.

Final whistle: Bayern Munich 2, Borussia Dortmund 1.

Sniper punchline 1: Bayern’s finishing was so on target tonight that even a sniper would file this as “headshots only.”

Sniper punchline 2: If you ever wanted proof that precision matters, watch Kane carve out chances like a laser-guided donut—deliciously accurate and utterly unstoppable.
