Transfer Marathon: Barça and Al Ahly Restart Talks
Hamza Abdel Karim deal hits multiple roadblocks.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed new developments in Hamza Abdel Karim's transfer from Al Ahly to Barcelona, confirming negotiations had resumed after a pause.
Romano also said on X that Barcelona had restarted talks with the Reds to finalize the deal, after an agreement with the 18-year-old player had been reached weeks earlier.
The Catalan club is very close to signing the player, with him joining Barcelona B first as part of the club's plan to develop young talents, before potentially being promoted to the first team.
Meanwhile Mundo Deportivo noted that Abdel Karim needs a work permit and a travel visa to Spain, with extra days likely, making an official loan with a purchase option plausible by month’s end.
In related news, Barça Atlètic officials are watching Mamadou Mabaki's expected move to Saint Louis City in MLS, a move that could free up one of the squad's highest salaries.
