Enppi edges ZED FC as Pharco stalls Wadi Degla in a lively Egyptian round

The tenth round of the Egyptian Premier League concluded with two matches on Sunday evening. Enppi defeated their guests ZED FC 1-0 at Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo, courtesy of an early strike that set the tone for the night.
Mody Nasser scored the decisive goal in the 11th minute, giving Enppi the lead and the momentum to see out the win.
ZED FC pressed for an equalizer, bringing on Mustafa Saad around the 35th minute and later introducing Rafat Khalil and Youssef Osama Nabeel, but could not breach the Enppi defense.
Enppi closed down the spaces effectively and used timely substitutions to sharpen their attacking edge, keeping the visitors at bay as the clock ticked on.
In the other fixture, Pharco and Wadi Degla played to a goalless draw at the Haras El Hodoud Stadium in Alexandria, with both sides failing to unlock the opponent’s defense.
Petrojet’s match against Pyramids was postponed because the latter were involved in the CAF Champions League preliminary round, delaying any potential cascade of results.
Round-up of results and league implications
Enppi rose to 17 points in fifth place, while ZED FC sat on 12 points in eleventh. Pharco remained winless on six points in nineteenth, while Wadi Degla climbed to 16 points and sixth.
The round featured a spate of managerial changes across the league. Sami Khamsan was appointed manager of Mokawloon Al Arab, succeeding the interim spell under Talat Moharram.
Across clubs, talks of staff reshuffles continued, with several teams announcing/coaching adjustments as the season progresses toward the mid-season mark.
The Egyptian national team enters a break with two World Cup qualifiers against Djibouti and Guinea-Bissau scheduled for October 8 and 12. The U-23s are also set for friendlies in Morocco and Bahrain ahead of the Arab Cup in Qatar in December.
