Opening moment: Zlatan Ibrahimović carries Milan's Olympic flame
Zlatan Ibrahimović, Milan's advisor, carried the Olympic flame through the streets of Milan on Friday, hours before the Winter Games opening ceremony in the Italian city.
In an interview with Milan TV, Ibrahimović said: "These are endless feelings, and I am very proud. I’ve always said Italy is my second homeland; it’s a country that has given me so much."
The Rossoneri legend added: "This is a moment I will carry with me forever. Milan and the city of Milan are part of my life: I’ve spent about 70% of my life here. Representing Milan is a great honor—it’s part of my history. Milan remains Milan... let the games begin now... the Zlatan-olympics is complete."
Serie A updates: postponement and standings
The Serie A officially announced that the Milan vs Como match scheduled for Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in Round 24, will be staged separately. The game was postponed at San Siro due to Winter Olympics events in the city, which made the stadium unavailable at that time.
There had been a prior proposal to move the Como–Milan match to Australia, but the plan did not come to fruition.
Milan sits second in Serie A with 50 points, five behind leaders Inter, while Como stands sixth with 41 points.

And yes, amidst the snow, Milan’s season continues with its own kind of heat—because if you’re going to freeze the edges of winter, you might as well do it with a torch-wielding legend in the lead.
