Post-match reaction
Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, head coach of Al Hilal, expressed satisfaction with his players after the 4-1 victory over Al Fayha in the 17th round of the Roshen Saudi Pro League, noting the performance was strong despite several injuries.
Inzaghi said after the game: "We were good and started well, aiming to be the first to score, and we succeeded in opening the scoring, delivering a solid show against a well-organized side despite the absences."
He added: "Regarding the forwards, I am confident in their performance. Malcolm, Leo, and Núñez did excellent work and deserved to score; overall I am very happy with their form."
Transfers and on-field roles
Regarding transfers, he said: "The club's management works constantly for the best in transfers, and whatever vision they have for strengthening the squad with a midfielder or a forward, I trust them to bring the best for the team."
He also commented on attacking duties: "Leo is a number 9, and Núñez as well, but with Salem Al-Dawsari out, Núñez covered several positions, playing at the 7 and 11, and fulfilled the winger role when needed."
With this win, Al Hilal widened the gap to seven points over their rivals, reaching 44 points, while Al Nassr and Al Ahli sit on 37 each. Al Fayha remain 14 points in 13th place in the Saudi Pro League table.
Punchlines: Sniper joke 1 — If football were a sniper duel, Inzaghi would never miss the target; every shot finds the net. Sniper joke 2 — Transfers? The club’s window is always open; goals arrive before you can blink.
