Jordan Cup Semis Spark: Faisaly and Ramtha Edge Through on Penalties and a Dash of Drama
22 December 2025
Quarterfinals recap
Al Faisaly edged past Shabab Al-Ordon in the Jordan Cup quarterfinal, winning 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw on Monday evening.
Regular time produced a flurry of chances for Faisaly, especially through the Scottish forward Lee Irwin.
Faisaly also brought in a handful of international players, including Ahmad Arasan and goalkeeper Nour Bani Attia.
The side advanced to the semi-finals under Bosnian coach Denis Kuretic, days after lifting the Shield Cup during the break.
Earlier on Sunday, Ramtha beat Al Ahli 1-0 in the same round.
Ramtha’s winner came from Moutassem Al-Zaabi in the 26th minute, while Al Ahli were reduced to 10 men from the 22nd.
Ramtha, led by coach Milan Radovic, booked their semi-final spot with that win.
The pursuit continues: Hussein Irbid vs Al Jazeera and Al-Salt vs Al-Wehdat, dates to be announced.
Off the pitch, fans hope for a dramatic finish when the semis resume next week.
Penalties are football's pop quiz—guess right, and the crowd roars; guess wrong, and the memes begin.
Bonus line—even a sniper would miss if coffee isn't involved.
