Senegalese star Sadio Mane, the Al Nassr forward, named an all-time African XI, selecting players he regards Africa’s greatest ever, including rivals from his domestic league.
Asked about ultimate African XI, Mane, who recently left the club to play for his national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, unveiled a five-player lineup.
Via the league's English X account, Mane shared his five selections proudly.
Goalkeeper: Edward Mendy (Al Ahli Saudi, Senegal).
Defence: Kalidou Koulibaly (Al Hilal, Senegal).
Midfield: Yaya Toure (retired – Ivory Coast).
Attack: Didier Drogba (retired – Ivory Coast) and Samuel Eto'o (retired – Cameroon).
Mane, who has excelled with Al Nassr since joining in 2023 from Liverpool, remains a standout, maintaining strong form after his Africa Cup triumph.
In his time with the club, Mane has appeared 110 games, scoring 43 goals and assisting 31.
This season he has played 17 matches, netting six goals and providing six assists.
