Morocco's League Slams the Pause Button for CAF Showdowns
10 March 2026
Why the league is paused
Morocco's league is paused temporarily to clear the schedule for clubs participating in CAF competitions to play their two-legged ties in the best possible conditions. The pause also coincides with Eid al-Fitr, and a new schedule will be announced later.
Standings and upcoming fixtures
Raja Casablanca sits atop the table with 30 points from 15 matches, while Wydad Casablanca is second with 29 points from 12 games. The league’s statement did not address the fate of the postponed Round 10 fixtures, originally due to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday, despite earlier signals that the games would go ahead on those days.
The federation had previously announced moving the Morocco Fassi vs Olympique de Dcheira match to allow the postponements, only to reverse the decision later without explanations.
CAF fixtures in focus
AS FAR Rabat will host Pyramids FC in the CAF Champions League quarterfinal first leg, while Renaissance Berkane meets Al Hilal of Sudan in the same round. In the Confederation Cup, Wydad travels to Olympique Safi for a Moroccan derby on Sunday.

Punchline 1: If football had a snooze button, this league would hit it more often than my notifications.
Punchline 2: They say patience is a virtue; in football, it’s how you explain a 0-0 that turns into a calendar planning meeting.
