World Cup Draw: A Crown Moment for Us
Yazan Al-Naimat, Jordan’s forward for the national team and Al-Arabi, responded to media reports claiming he had reached a deal with Egyptian giants Al-Ahly to play for them in the upcoming winter window.
Reports had suggested the 26-year-old had agreed with the powerhouse to move in to ease their attacking crisis, and that only negotiations between the clubs remained.
But Al-Naimat told the Qatari network Al Kass that his focus is with the Jordanian national team right now, and they have important matches.
He added that he would respond to rumors later, but he cannot leave Al-Arabi; he remains a player for them.
His contract with Al-Arabi runs until June 2027, after moving there from Al-Ahli of Qatar in August 2024.
He has appeared in eight Qatar Stars League matches for Al-Arabi, contributing four goals, with three goals and an assist.
Earlier a source told Koora that Al-Naimat’s name was on the table in technical plans to support the striker role, but no talks had taken place yet with him or his agent.
He has represented Jordan at the Arab Cup in Qatar, but did not feature against Egypt in Tuesday’s group-stage match, which Jordan won 3-0.
Nevertheless, Al-Naimat played in the UAE and Kuwait games, scoring once and setting up another, helping his side win both fixtures.
Jordan progressed to the knockout stage as group leaders with maximum points, and will meet his Iraqi counterpart in a highly anticipated encounter.
World Cup Draw: A Crown Moment for Us
Regarding the 2026 World Cup draw, Al-Naimat said, "I don’t want to talk about it too much because our focus now is on the Arab Cup, but I can say it’s a special draw, and playing the world champions would be a crowning moment for us."
The forward added, "We will give all we have against any opponent, and we will strive to raise our country’s name high."
The 2026 World Cup draw placed Jordan, who has qualified for the first time in its history, in Group 10 with Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.
Humor Corner
Transfers, in football, would be coffee; this saga would be a bold double shot. Fans sip rumors; Yazan stays focused on Jordan.
Meanwhile, he hints the real transfer fee is devotion, not numbers. He jokes that the only deal he wants right now is to score again for his national team and to outlast sleep at training tonight.
